Negotiation

I had made this photograph titled ‘Negotiation’ after being attracted to a freshly painted sports oval in my local area. A few days later I got chatting with the line-marker who was now replacing the blue lines with black ones. He explained that a player in the local comp had a colour blindness which meant they couldn’t tell the difference between blue and green and found it hard to recognise the field’s parameters. Interestingly, the initial markings had prompted me to think about how we encounter rules and regulations in our life, and to consider how we might go on to navigate these rules in later life.
